Janitor (Houston)

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment in assigned buildings and facilities. This role supports daily operations by ensuring all areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, classrooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed Empty trash and recycling containers Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper Clean windows, mirrors, and surfaces Follow established cleaning schedules and safety procedures Safely operate cleaning equipment and tools Report maintenance or safety concerns to a supervisor Support special events or projects as needed Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required Ability to work independently and follow instructions Strong attention to detail Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to pass background and pre‑employment requirements (if applicable)

Work Environment On‑site role May require evening, overnight, or weekend shifts depending on facility needs Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment (training provided)

This is a contract position starting at $18/hr.
