Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney (Richmond)

A well-established Mid-Atlantic insurance defense firm is seeking Workers’ Compensation Attorneys across all levels to join its Richmond office.

This is a 100% workers’ compensation defense role supporting a partner-led docket of approximately 100–150 active files. The practice is high-volume, fast-moving, and trial-oriented.

We are moving efficiently and can take someone from first conversation to decision within about two weeks.

Responsibilities Manage and assist on a robust workers’ compensation defense docket Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, medical summaries, position statements, and settlement documents Conduct depositions and prepare for hearings as experience permits Attend regular Workers’ Compensation hearings (multiple per month) Work directly with experienced partners while building autonomy Contribute to case evaluation, negotiation, and settlement evaluations Communicate with clients, claims professionals, medical providers, and opposing counsel

Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Virginia Bar admission required For

associate candidates : 1–10 years of Workers’ Compensation defense experience For

partner candidates : 10+ years of Workers’ Compensation defense experience Strong writing, analysis, and file management skills Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-moving practice Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a heavy workload and multi-task Medical background knowledge is a plus Deposition and hearing experience preferred
