Attorney (San Jose)

Well‑established civil litigation practice in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an attorney with 3–5 years of experience to join its team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys handling a diverse caseload, taking ownership of files, and working in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities Manage civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions, discovery motions, and procedural filings. Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and case evaluations. Handle written and oral discovery, including taking and defending depositions. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and carriers (as applicable). Assist partners with complex cases while also independently managing assigned files. Participate in mediations, hearings, and court appearances.

Qualifications Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California. 3–5 years of civil litigation experience. Strong research, writing, and analytical skills. Experience with drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery. Comfortable handling depositions and court appearances. Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple matters in a fast‑paced environment. Professional, reliable, and collaborative working style.
