MEP Manager (Healthcare)

Overview
I’m working with a well-established healthcare construction firm in Southern California that is seeking an experienced
MEP Manager
to join their team. This role will oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas systems across multiple large-scale hospital and healthcare projects. You will ensure strict compliance with healthcare codes, budgets, and schedules while fostering a high-performing, collaborative project team.

Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day
MEP project operations
from design through completion.
Oversee
subcontractor scopes, schedules, budgets, and change orders
for MEP work.
Ensure
compliance with healthcare codes, NFPA, FGI Guidelines, and hospital safety standards .
Collaborate with clients, hospital staff, engineers, architects, and internal teams to drive project success.
Conduct project meetings and
support budget, schedule, and quality management .
Identify, assess, and mitigate
MEP-related risks , including contracts, insurance, and deliverables.
Develop, mentor, and cultivate
high-performing project engineers and team members .
Facilitate problem-solving that addresses root causes, not just symptoms, and drives lasting solutions.
Maintain a
positive, professional attitude under pressure
while prioritizing and executing multiple critical tasks.
Required Qualifications
10+ years
of experience in healthcare construction with a focus on MEP systems.
Minimum
5 years in a leadership role
overseeing MEP teams.
Proven experience on
large-scale hospital or healthcare TI projects , preferably OSHPD or similar regulated environments.
Strong knowledge of
contracts, insurance, risk management, and cost control .
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering, or related field preferred.
Proficient in
MS Office Suite, Bluebeam, Procore , and scheduling software.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to inspire, challenge, and mentor teams.
Preferred Qualifications
LEED or healthcare sustainability accreditation.
Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or equivalent certification.
Familiarity with
medical gas, HVAC, and redundant power systems
in hospital settings.
Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
