Litigation and Court Appearance Attorney

*ATTORNEY -Mental health areas including - LPS CONSERVATORSHIPS & LITIGATION*

We are seeking an experienced attorney with expertise in LPS (Lanterman-Petris-Short Act) conservatorships and litigation to join our team. This position offers the flexibility of primarily remote work while providing meaningful advocacy for vulnerable individuals.

*Key Responsibilities:*

* Handle LPS conservatorship proceedings from initiation through resolution * Handle criminal court appearances for mental health proceedings * Conduct jury trials and court hearings * Manage complex litigation matters * Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda * Conduct legal research and case strategy development * Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel

*Required Qualifications:*

* Active California State Bar membership in good standing * Proven experience with LPS conservatorships and or jury trial in criminal law. * Strong jury trial experience * Excellent litigation and courtroom advocacy skills * Ability to work independently in a remote environment * Strong written and oral communication skills

*Position Details:*

* Primarily remote work arrangement * Occasional in-person court appearances required (frequency varies by caseload) * Travel and accommodation expenses for trials and court appearances will be shared by the firm * Flexible schedule with advance notice for court dates

*Preferred Experience:*

* Background in mental health law * Experience with probate proceedings * Familiarity with court procedures in LPS conservatorships

Pay: $150.00 - $175.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 20 per week
