About the Role
The
Senior Key Account Manager
will drive strategic customer engagement, lead complex negotiations, and support new business acquisition with major automotive manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
Concepts, Quotes & Negotiations
Proactively identify early commercial opportunities in collaboration with Business Development.
Develop account strategies, document progress using CRM tools, and prioritize opportunities based on potential impact.
Gather customer intelligence to help shape technical solutions that meet true customer needs.
Lead negotiations covering terms & conditions, warranty, liability, service parts, quality agreements, and related commitments.
Prepare cost models, P&L scenarios, and full quote packages—including assumptions, commercial terms, technical concepts, and online or formal submissions.
Negotiate pricing and proposals using strong financial and technical argumentation, continually refining and improving quote packages.
Support ongoing change management and negotiate updates with assigned customers.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strategic relationships across all customer departments, including purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and advanced technology groups.
Prepare and deliver technical, strategic, and commercial presentations.
Represent the company professionally at all levels within assigned customers.
Support issue resolution alongside Program Management teams.
Document customer needs and ensure timely responses throughout the program lifecycle.
Coordinate customer visits, plant tours, and customer‑focused events.
Organize technology days and special engagement events to strengthen relationships.
Marketing & Competitive Intelligence
Collect, validate, and maintain detailed intelligence on customer programs, localization strategies, product plans, future technologies, materials, and market trends.
Monitor competitor positioning, pricing, and technological developments.
Ensure internal strategies and processes align with current and future customer needs.
Support activities that facilitate smooth launches, positive customer relations, and achievement of financial targets.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 7 years
of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Key Account Management within the
automotive industry .
Proven success winning new business and managing high-volume OEM accounts.
Experience working with major automotive manufacturers (e.g., emerging EV companies or legacy OEMs) is a strong plus.
Strong understanding of customer-specific requirements and automotive commercial processes.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
