Key Responsibilities :
- Clinical Leadership: Serve as the clinical leader, collaborating with the Executive Director to create a thriving environment where residents feel safe and cared for.
- Dementia Care Expertise: Embody a person-centered approach to dementia care, helping to create a safe, supportive environment for persons with dementia in the community and their loved ones.
- Building Trust: Establish strong, trusting relationships with residents and families, ensuring they feel valued and heard in their care journey.
- Community Presence: Actively engage with the community, being visible and approachable as the face of the clinical care team.
- Caregiver Support: Partner with caregivers to integrate the principles of assisted living and Bickford’s culture into all aspects of resident care
- On-Call Coordination: Develop and participate in the on-call schedule to support clinical needs, stepping in to provide care when short-staffed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain adherence to regulatory standards, ensuring the branch meets all compliance requirements.
- Boots-on-the-Ground Leadership Style: Be an active presence in the community, quickly identifying and addressing issues as they arise.
- Resident Engagement: Communicate proactively with residents and their families to enhance engagement and satisfaction.
- Medication Management: Oversee the administration of resident medications, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with physician orders.
- Healthcare Coordination: Coordinate services with external healthcare providers and physicians to ensure all resident needs are met.
- Tour Participation: Participate in community tours, showcasing our commitment to quality care and answering questions from prospective residents and families.
- Vendor Partnerships: Manage relationships with local vendors to ensure high-quality external care services for residents.
Qualifications :
- Licensing: Hold a current active RN or LPN license in the state of Tennessee.
- Previous DON/HWD experience required in a Senior Living Community
- Ongoing Education: Willingness to pursue additional training or certifications as required by Tennessee state regulations.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certifications are mandatory.
- Multitasking Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for building relationships with your team, other members of leadership, and residents and families.
- Organizational Skills: Competent in time management, setting boundaries, and time blocking.
- Judgment and Decision-Making: Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Accountability: Proven track record of accountability and prompt execution of responsibilities.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Tennessee ALF regulations and experience with developing and executing plans of correction.
- Attention to Detail: Must be organized and pay attention to the smallest of details to ensure clinical operations are meticulously managed to maintain excellent quality of care.
- Team Development: Strong background in hiring, training, and team development.
- Flexibility: Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed and step in during staffing shortages.
- Advocacy for Seniors: A genuine passion for advocating for the well-being of seniors.
- Grit: A leader who demonstrates resilience in the face of challenges and has a "glass half full" mentality.
