We’re seeking a Repair Superintendent to support operations across Long Island. This role is ideal for a hands-on construction leader who understands job site coordination, quality control, cost management, and field team development
What You’ll Do:
You’ll oversee day-to-day repair operations, supporting field personnel, improving quality, and ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Conduct Job Site Quality Audits:
Visit active job sites to perform quality audits and ensure route work is completed efficiently, safely, and in a cost-effective manner.
Oversee Turnover Audits (NIM Jobs):
Perform NIM job audits within 15 days of construction and modernization turnovers. Identify issues that could impact long-term equipment reliability and provide recommendations to improve future installations.
Support & Develop Field Teams:
Assist mechanics in the field by troubleshooting complex issues and providing hands-on, on-the-job training to strengthen technical capabilities and workmanship standards.
Monitor Financial Performance:
Review accounting reports to evaluate route profitability and call-back trends. Provide data-driven insights and reports to management to improve performance and reduce rework.
Promote Safety Excellence:
Participate in and support safety training initiatives to ensure compliance and reinforce a strong safety culture across all job sites.
Partner with Sales on Repair Bids:
Provide technical input to sales teams regarding scope of work and material requirements for repair proposals. Assist with labor and material cost calculations to ensure accurate, competitive bids.
Support Performance Management:
Provide structured feedback to the Service Manager prior to field evaluations and performance reviews.
Maintain Code & Industry Knowledge:
Stay current with all federal, state, and local elevator codes and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance across projects.
Stay Product-Focused:
Maintain strong familiarity with company products through training sessions, factory updates, supplier reviews, and collaboration with regional field trainers.
Manage Materials & Procurement:
Identify required materials for repair work and coordinate ordering of parts to minimize downtime and keep projects moving efficiently.
What You Bring to the Team:
1+ years of management experience in a field service or construction environment, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on leadership experience
Strong knowledge of the construction and elevator industries
Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and diagrams
Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to both teams and management
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Confidence working independently and making decisions in fast-paced environments
Location:
Long Island
– Local travel required to client sites and projects
Salary range $101,000- $140,000. The role offers a car allowance or company vehicle, fuel card, and annual incentive program.
