Mechanical Construction Quality Assurance Specialist (Columbia)

Our client is searching for a

Mechanical Construction Quality Assurance Specialist

who supports mechanical system installations on complex building and infrastructure projects. This role ensures HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related systems meet contract requirements, industry standards, and client expectations.

Responsibilities: Conduct mechanical QA/QC inspections for HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, and fire protection systems Review submittals, shop drawings, and commissioning documentation Verify contractor compliance with specifications, codes, and safety requirements Document field observations and corrective actions Support commissioning, functional testing, and system turnover Collaborate with owners, contractors, and design teams to resolve technical issues

Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

preferred 5+ years of mechanical construction or QA/QC experience Strong knowledge of mechanical codes and ASHRAE standards Experience with commercial, institutional, or government projects Preferred Certifications: CQM, CCM, OSHA 30
