About the Role Summit EPC is looking for a Design Manager ready to elevate into a Director level role leading a Preconstruction team while guiding design development for key projects at a senior level. The Design Project Manager leads project development and design execution from early programming through construction documents within a fully integrated design-build delivery model.

This role is ideal for a design professional who wants to remain deeply engaged in complex facility design while gaining greater influence over outcomes, constructability, schedule, and owner alignment. Key Responsibilities Guide owners through programming, operational flow, and facility planning Translate business and production requirements into actionable design direction Align scope, performance goals, and budget expectations early Lead architectural and engineering coordination for full project scope Drive decision-making during schematic and design development phases Maintain accountability for drawing quality, completeness, and clarity Ensure constructability and field alignment prior to release Collaborate directly with preconstruction and operations leaders Participate in cost modeling and value analysis discussions Reduce downstream change orders through proactive coordination

Ideal Background Industrial or commercial A&E firms Owner-side Capital Project or Facilities Engineering teams Industrial Architecture firms Design-build engineering departments EPC environments

Qualifications 7 to 15+ years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, processing, distribution, or commercial facility design Demonstrated experience leading design development and construction document production Experience on ground-up projects exceeding $10 million in construction value Strong interdisciplinary coordination experience across building systems Practical understanding of constructability and field realities Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent work experience Professional licensure a plus, but not required
