Insurance Defense Attorney (San Jose)

We're hiring! Our client in San Jose office is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney for an onsite hybrid position. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team and make an impact as an Insurance Defense Attorney.

Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation, including case assessment, strategy development, and communication with clients and claims professionals Handle discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, taking and defending depositions, and managing evidence Draft, review, and file legal documents such as motions, briefs, and settlement agreements Appear in court for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, advocating for clients with professionalism and legal expertise Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution with opposing counsel when appropriate Ensure compliance with all legal procedures, court deadlines, and regulatory requirements Conduct thorough legal research to stay current on relevant statutes, case law, and industry regulations Build strong client relationships through clear, timely, and effective communication

Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Active member in good standing with the California State Bar 5+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation or related civil litigation preferred Excellent knowledge of California courts and insurance defense procedures Demonstrated strength in legal research, writing, and analytical thinking Exceptional oral advocacy, negotiation, and client service skills Ability to adapt in a fast-paced hybrid work environment and manage multiple priorities High attention to detail, organization, and proactive work ethic
