Quality Operations Manager
Position Overview
The Quality Operations Manager leads site-level quality operations and drives continuous improvement across manufacturing processes and products. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and cross-functional leaders to ensure quality standards are met, customer expectations are exceeded, and improvement initiatives result in measurable performance gains.
This position also has direct responsibility for leading, mentoring, and developing Quality Engineers while fostering a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and drive quality excellence by partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure quality capabilities meet or exceed production requirements
Own and guide responses to customer feedback, nonconformances, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), ensuring timely and effective resolution
Establish, track, and drive quality metrics aligned with site quality plans and manufacturing objectives
Provide technical leadership to site operations by supporting quality process improvements and aligning with broader technical and quality roadmaps
Lead operational product and process quality improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving tools such as CAPA, audits, and root cause analysis
Drive improvements that reduce cost, improve yield and reliability, and increase customer satisfaction
Lead, coach, and develop Quality Engineers, with a focus on performance, engagement, and succession planning
Model strong leadership behaviors and reinforce organizational values throughout the quality organization
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in a technical degree ( (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, etc.) is required
Master’s degree is preferred
Minimum of
5-8 years of experience
in quality, manufacturing, or operational improvement roles (or
3+ years with a Master’s degree )
Prior supervisory or people leadership experience preferred
Hands-on experience with operational quality systems and CAPA ownership
Experience working in manufacturing or plant-based environments
Strong cross-functional communication and leadership skills
Ideal Background
Quality Operations or Quality Engineering leadership in manufacturing environments
Proven track record of driving continuous improvement with measurable results
Comfortable operating on the plant floor and partnering closely with Operations
