Job Description
Job Title: EDI Administrator
Location: Vinings, GA – Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Duration: Full Time (Direct Hire)
Overview
The EDI Administrator is responsible for managing, building, and optimizing electronic data interchange (EDI) integrations between internal systems and external trading partners. This role is critical to stabilizing and scaling the company’s EDI environment, with leadership prioritizing significant improvements in system maturity and performance.
This is not a ticket-based support role. The organization requires a hands-on IBM Sterling B2Bi professional who can build and modify native business process models, develop robust translation maps, and own integrations end-to-end. The ideal candidate understands how data flows across systems, can translate business requirements into technical EDI mappings, and proactively resolves mapping and integration issues before they impact operations.
Key Responsibilities:
EDI Platform & Integration Management
Design, implement, monitor, and maintain EDI integrations between internal systems and external trading partners
Build and modify IBM Sterling B2Bi business process models and translation maps
Configure and manage trading partner setups from onboarding through production deployment
Ensure adherence to X12 EDI standards and enterprise production best practices
Monitor system performance and proactively resolve errors, failures, and integration risks
Business Process Mapping & Technical Execution
Develop and optimize business process flows within the native B2Bi tool
Map EDI documents and manage end-to-end transaction processing
Troubleshoot and resolve complex mapping, translation, and integration issues
Translate functional business requirements into technical EDI solutions
Systems & Support
Archive and manage EDI-related files and maintain supporting SQL databases
Configure and maintain UNIX scripts and Java brokers for file movement and automation
Provide second-level EDI support to internal IT teams and business stakeholders
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
Partner & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Lead onboarding of new trading partners, including non-standard implementations
Coordinate with external partners to troubleshoot connectivity and data issues
Maintain thorough documentation of EDI configurations, processes, and procedures
Support broader IT initiatives and special projects as assigned
Hard Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2Bi (B2B Integrator)
Proven ability to build and modify business process models within the native B2Bi platform
Experience developing and maintaining EDI translation maps
Minimum 2+ years of hands-on EDI mapping and translation experience
Minimum 2+ years working with X12 EDI standards
Experience administering EDI systems in enterprise production environments
Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end EDI transactions from mapping through partner integration
Strong understanding of data flow across integrated systems
Proficiency in UNIX/Linux and Windows environments
Experience with UNIX shell scripting
Working knowledge of SQL and database queries
Understanding of TCP/IP networking and EDI communication protocols
Bonus / Preferred Qualifications
Experience standing up or stabilizing new EDI environments
Experience supporting multi-entity or subsidiary EDI interfaces
Java broker configuration experience
Prior experience in a fast-paced, scaling organization
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field — or equivalent professional experience
Notes
This role requires a proactive, technically strong EDI professional capable of owning integrations end-to-end rather than operating solely in a support capacity
