Job Description
Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Hyperbaric, and Sleep Medicine is seeking a Pulmonary and Critical Care faculty with specific expertise and interest in pulmonary vascular disease to expand our Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) Program, a regional referral center caring for one of the largest PH populations in the Inland Empire.
Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) is a tertiary academic center and Level 1 trauma facility with a new, state-of-the-art hospital and a strong mission of whole-person care. Our Pulmonary Hypertension Center of Excellence currently cares for over 700 patients across all WHO PH groups (1, 3, 4, and 5), offering full-spectrum of advanced therapies including IV, subcutaneous, inhaled, and oral prostacyclin-based regimens.
The program is supported by a multidisciplinary team of patient coordinators, pharmacists, nurse navigators, social work, and research staff, ensuring comprehensive and seamless patient care. Faculty have access to dedicated right heart catheterization facility, advanced echocardiography, and close collaborations with cardiology (including adult congenital heart disease), thoracic surgery, and radiology for complex case management and advanced interventions.
The program also leads our Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT), an integrated multidisciplinary program providing rapid evaluation and management of high-risk PE, with active participation from pulmonary, cardiology, interventional radiology, and thoracic surgery.
The faculty will maintain an academic practice that encompasses pulmonary and critical care services. Providing inpatient and outpatient care for patients with pulmonary hypertension and other pulmonary vascular diseases.
Perform and interpret right heart catheterizations, vasodilator testing, and advanced hemodynamic assessments.
Mentor and teach fellows, residents, and students in pulmonary vascular medicine.
Participate in clinical trials, translational research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Contribute to ongoing efforts with key leadership opportunities toward transitioning the program from a
Regional Clinical Program
to
Center of Comprehensive Care
designation under the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
The candidate will join an active and collegial academic division that includes faculty at three major teaching hospitals, Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda VA Medical Center, and Riverside University Health System. The division sponsors ACGME-accredited fellowship programs in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine.
Faculty in the division lead educational, clinical, and research initiatives spanning asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, interventional pulmonology, ultrasound, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary vascular disease, sleep disorders, hyperbaric medicine, critical care, ethics and humanities in medicine.

Candidates should have strong commitment to academic medicine, multidisciplinary collaboration, a dynamic personality, and excellence in patient care. Board certified or eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is required. Fellowship training in Pulmonary Vascular Disease is highly desirable.
