Job Description

*Interventional Radiology NP* District Medical Group (DMG) is well known as a respected leader in the healthcare industry in the Phoenix area, with a reputation for outstanding leadership, innovation and dedication to the patients and communities we serve. DMG is one of the largest physician groups in the Valley, with over 450 dedicated physicians/APP’s, supported by approximately 100 skilled professional/administrative team members. DMG is actively recruiting for an *Interventional Radiology Nurse Practitioner* to join our Radiology Department based at Valleywise Health Medical Center. The IR NP serves as a physician extender to assist in the performance of direct patient care by collaborating with referring physicians, interactions with allied hospital staff, and with patients (inpatient/outpatient) to enhance the section’s clinical presence and to work within a multidisciplinary team. *Responsibilities include*: * Order laboratory and radiographic studies and consult other services as appropriate * Conduct outpatient and inpatient direct patient care via obtaining history and performing physical examinations, pre- and post-procedural evaluations with documentation, obtaining informed consents, doing consultations and performing inpatient rounds. * Take medical histories, perform physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses and evaluate patients in the IR Clinic. * Develop and manage patient care plans; document progress; assist with follow-ups. * Help develop, review and manage referrals and perform comprehensive workups * Field phone calls or use other means of communication with patients, referring physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals, regarding the coordination of patient care * Potential for tele-medicine or virtual health visits * Potential to evaluate patients at other Valleywise outpatient sites * Handle patient and provider communications regarding care coordination using strong communication skills. * Educate patients about their conditions, medical care and treatments, to assist with patient education, follow up and to perform discharge notes. * Become proficient with Epic EMR * Be able to order medications and prescriptions * Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement for patient care and potentially assist with training of other health care team members * Participate as needed with clinical research * Potential to perform minor procedures *Preferred Qualifications:* * Experience in Interventional Radiology, Surgery, or Emergency Medicine preferred DMG continuously strives for and succeeds in providing a strong and positive work environment through employee appreciation, team collaboration, competitive compensation, mentoring, and great benefits including: * A strong healthcare package inclusive of medical, dental, vision – eligible *DAY ONE* * A rich 401(k) with employer match, increasing annually up to 6% * Four weeks PTO 10 paid holidays * One week of CME with allowance * Paid Sick Time * and more For consideration forward CV to: [practice@dmgaz.org](mailto:practice@dmgaz.org) EOE
