Position Contract Therapist - Neurodivergent-Affirming Practice
1099 Contract Therapist (Telehealth) — Neurodivergent-Affirming Group Practice
Maternity leave coverage:
April–June 2026 (3+ months), with potential to continue if it’s a great fit.
Location:
Serving the Greater Seattle area (remote/telehealth).
License:
Independent WA licensure required.
This role is a strong fit for a licensed clinician who wants flexible, part-time work (or to supplement an existing caseload) in a practice that centers neurodiversity, individualized care, and clinical autonomy.
About Us:
Exploring Divergence is a neurodivergent-affirming private practice specializing in therapy for ADHD, autistic, and otherwise neurodivergent adults. We support professionals, gamers, parents, and individuals navigating anxiety, depression, chronic illness, trauma, and substance recovery—through a strengths-based, anti-pathology lens.
Our clients are smart, accomplished, and exhausted from trying to fit into systems that weren’t built for their brains. We help them understand their neurodivergence, build practical strategies, reduce masking, and thrive on their own terms.
The practice is led by
Katie Ferrell, NCC, LMHC , a licensed mental health counselor with 15+ years of experience supporting neurodivergent adults (licensed in Washington and Vermont). Katie is passionate about creating affirming, accessible mental health care for people whose brains work differently.
The Opportunity:
Administrative support
for scheduling, coordination, and billing
Access to referral network
Fully virtual, private-pay sessions
via SimplePractice
You set your own rates and hours
(independent contractor model)
Part-time caseload
of working professionals, parents, and neurodivergent adults (approx. 6–12 clients)
Case consultation available
with Katie during leave
After the coverage period, clients may
continue with you , return to Katie, or transition elsewhere
Requirements:
Independent WA license:
LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist
Comfortable providing
telehealth
services
Reliable, organized, responsive , and clinically grounded
Experience working with neurodivergent and/or marginalized communities, including:
ADHD and autism
Trauma-informed care
Substance use recovery dynamics
Executive functioning coaching/support
LGBTQIA+, polyamorous, and other marginalized identities
Preferred:
Lived experience with neurodivergence (valued, not required)
Familiarity with
SimplePractice
or similar EMR
Experience in
self-pay/private-pay
settings
Strong clinical documentation skills
Interest in a longer-term partnership beyond maternity leave coverage
Compensation:
1099 Contractor Position
70/30 income split (you keep 70% of fees)
Potential to grow together as we build a neurodivergent-focused virtual group practice
