The

General Manager

will lead and oversee all aspects of the Waukegan branch’s daily operations. This individual will ensure operational excellence, team development, and strong financial performance while maintaining the company’s high service standards. The

General Manager

will manage reconstruction and mitigation operations, lead a small but dedicated team, and collaborate closely with ownership to achieve long-term growth and profitability goals. Key Responsibilities

Oversee all day-to-day branch operations, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, profitably, and to company standards.

Lead, mentor, and develop staff including estimators, project managers, and mitigation managers.

Hire, train, and coach employees; conduct annual performance reviews and ensure continuous improvement.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), job costs, schedules, and margins to identify areas for operational improvement.

Partner with business development personnel to strengthen customer relationships and promote repeat business.

Support HR processes in coordination with corporate leadership, including hiring, onboarding, and compliance.

Maintain a safe work environment by implementing company safety programs and initiatives.

Build and maintain strong subcontractor relationships, ensuring quality and performance expectations are met.

Manage administrative responsibilities including accounts receivable oversight, workflow coordination, and policy implementation.

Foster a cohesive, goal-oriented culture aligned with the Paul Davis mission, values, and ethical business practices.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a

General Manager

or senior operations leader in construction, restoration, or a related industry.

Strong understanding of reconstruction project management, job costing, and performance tracking.

Demonstrated leadership ability with a focus on accountability, communication, and team development.

Skilled in process improvement, workflow coordination, and operational execution.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

Self-directed and proactive, with a passion for building high-performing teams and achieving measurable results.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary:

$80,000 – $90,000 (commensurate with experience)

Performance Bonus:

1% of total sales

Full-time, exempt position with ongoing professional development and leadership support.
