VP, Corporate Development (Gastonia)

As the VP of Corporate Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction, growth, and value creation within the organization. Reporting directly to CEO, you will lead transaction execution, M&A, and integration activities, partnering closely with division leaders across a lean, dynamic, and hands-on operating environment. This high-visibility role is essential in shaping the future of company during a transformative phase in the organization.

Responsibilities

Source, evaluate, and execute strategic M&A transactions and partnership opportunities that align with company growth objectives. Lead due diligence, deal structuring, financial modeling, negotiations, and post-close integration activities. Work hand-in-hand with the CEO, founders, and business unit leaders to assess, prioritize, and operationalize strategic initiatives. Oversee cross-functional integration across finance, HR, compliance, and operations teams for newly acquired entities. Develop and present business cases, investment memos, and board-level presentations supporting corporate strategies. Monitor industry trends in construction, renewable energy, and system connectivity to proactively identify growth opportunities. Drive value creation through hands-on operational oversight and strategic problem-solving. Support organizational transformation by leading change management and communicating strategic vision.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or relevant advanced degree strongly preferred). 5+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or a related services-based operating company environment. Demonstrated track record of executing end-to-end M&A transactions (sourcing, diligence, structuring, negotiation, integration) in a services sector (ideally construction, utilities, or infrastructure). Experience in a lean organization with hands-on leadership responsibilities. Proven ability to work directly with business founders, division heads, and executive management. Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or similar are advantageous.
