Deliver high-quality nursing care in a dynamic medical-surgical telemetry unit located in Alexandria, Louisiana. This contract role offers the opportunity to work in a 36-bed unit on the 3 South floor of a reputable medical center, equipped with advanced technology such as EKG machines, DynaMaps, bladder scanners, vein finders, and telemetry systems.
The unit boasts a dedicated team of 32 staff members, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and techs, ensuring comprehensive patient coverage and a collaborative work environment. Patient ratios are typically 6 to 1, allowing for focused and attentive care.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Must have experience in Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing
Proficient with Meditech electronic medical record system
Strong time management and critical thinking skills preferred
Positive attitude with a friendly and helpful demeanor
Valid and current RN licensure
Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care on Med Surg Tele floors, including monitoring heart catheterization procedures
Utilize telemetry and diagnostic equipment to assess and respond to patient conditions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech EMR
Adhere to all unit guidelines, policies, and dress code (ceil blue scrubs)
Schedule:
Day and night shifts available
Rotation includes every other weekend or two full weekends per month
On-call duties as assigned
