Provide specialized care to oncology patients within a supportive and highly regarded clinical setting focused on blood cancers. Responsibilities: Deliver expert nursing care to patients on the Blood Cancer/Oncology unit, including monitoring and managing complex hematology cases Administer medications, blood products, and electrolyte replacements following unit protocols Assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies (with and without sedation), and thoracentesis as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care with an emphasis on compassion and adaptability Follow strict handling guidelines for hazardous drugs and participate in education on chemo/biotherapy safety, without administering these unless certified Support a culture of safety, evidence-based practices, and continuous quality improvements contributing to multiple unit distinctions Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required Strong compassion for oncology patients, especially those with chronic conditions Ability to quickly learn and adapt within a complex clinical environment Preferred: Chemo and biotherapy certification, step-down experience, familiarity with standing orders for acute hematology patients Experience with tele monitors, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and EMR systems (Meditech preferred) Schedule: Night shift hours, 7 PM to 7 AM Benefits: Opportunity to work in a supportive, knowledgeable, and fun nursing team Exposure to cutting-edge oncology practices and technology Contract position suited for those seeking flexibility and professional growth This role offers a meaningful opportunity to impact patients lives in a unit celebrated for nursing excellence, low turnover, and a collaborative work atmosphere.
