A Registered Nurse with Med/Surg expertise is needed for a contract position in Canandaigua, NY. This role focuses on delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a medical-surgical setting with specialized cardiac care including telemetry monitoring. Key Responsibilities: Assess patient needs and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams Provide direct nursing care while evaluating patient progress and adjusting plans accordingly Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle changes, and post-hospitalization care to support healing Apply nursing theory, technical skills, and effective communication throughout patient care episodes Promote patient safety, advocate for patient rights, and participate in quality improvement initiatives Collaborate and build trusting relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members Maintain competencies related to assigned populations and comply with infection prevention protocols Lead rounds and utilize appropriate tools to keep patients and families informed and safe Desired Experience and Qualifications: Active Registered Nurse licensure Experience in medical-surgical nursing, preferably with telemetry monitoring and cardiac care Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills Ability to provide patient/family education tailored to individual learning styles Commitment to delivering holistic, compassionate care in a healing environment Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team Location Overview: Canandaigua, NY, nestled on the northern end of one of the Finger Lakes, offers a blend of scenic beauty, cultural attractions, and friendly community living.
