Job Title : Cancer Registry Administrator Location : Indianapolis, IN - Hybrid Work Schedule

* Monday through Friday * 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day) *Hybrid schedule :** 3 days onsite, 2 days remote * Standard office environment

Position Overview :

The Cancer Registry Administrator supports the State Cancer Registry by managing cancer data submissions, maintaining registry systems, supporting research data requests, and ensuring compliance with healthcare data privacy standards. This position reports directly to the Cancer Registry Director and works independently while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

* File and electronically store incoming cancer data reports received from healthcare facilities (faxed, mailed, or electronic). * Conduct death clearance follow-back activities (training and orientation provided; task begins in April). * Perform data pulls for pooled registry requests from researchers and national agencies for approved studies. * Update and maintain healthcare facility contact information in registry systems such as **SEER*DMS** and **Web Plus**. * Assist in developing and updating registry policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). * Compose accurate technical correspondence and reports. * Ensure strict compliance with confidentiality, HIPAA, and privacy regulations. * Collaborate with agency staff and external stakeholders to support registry operations. * Provide professional customer service to agency partners and the public.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelorโ€™s degree in healthcare administration, public health, or a related field. * Minimum of **2 years of experience** in healthcare data collection and management or healthcare administration. * Advanced proficiency with **Microsoft Enterprise tools** (Word, Excel, Teams). * Experience handling sensitive healthcare data with strict confidentiality. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain high accuracy. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) or former Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR). Prior experience working as a cancer registrar.

Physical & Working Conditions

Standard office work environment. No heavy physical demands. Combination of onsite and remote work as part of a hybrid schedule.
