Revive Life is an Adult Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Outpatient Facility located in Gaithersburg, MD, delivering Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (O/P) levels of care .

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) located in Gaithersburg, MD. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for providing integrated psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment across outpatient, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (O/P) levels of care. This includes conducting psychiatric and substance use assessments, diagnostic evaluations, prescribing and monitoring psychotropic and substance use treatment medications (including Medication-Assisted Treatment), and collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team. The NP provides clinical coordination, psychoeducation, and client/family support to promote recovery, stabilization, and overall wellness. The practitioner will maintain detailed patient records and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and patient confidentiality.
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment in outpatient, PHP, and IOP settings.
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and substance use assessments, including histories, diagnostic evaluations, and risk assessments (suicidality, overdose risk, withdrawal).
Prescribe medications following agency policies, formulary guidelines, and state/federal regulations.
Provide and monitor FDA-approved Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for individuals with opioid and/or alcohol use disorders (e.g., buprenorphine, naltrexone).
Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment and medication management plans.
Monitor medication adherence, effectiveness, side effects, and diversion risk in patients receiving MAT.
Provide direct feedback and psychoeducation to patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medication, and recovery planning.
Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and addiction counselors to support integrated treatment planning.
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings to coordinate care and review progress.
Ensure timely (within 48 hours) and accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, medication management, and case planning in the electronic medical record.
Provide healthcare education for patients and families regarding disease prevention, recovery, and relapse prevention.
Consult with psychiatric and medical colleagues as needed for complex cases.
Uphold professional standards of care, confidentiality, and compliance with federal/state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Medical Director.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Masterโs degree (or higher) from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program.
Current RN licensure in Maryland, board-certified by ANCC or AANP.
APN authorization to practice in psychiatric health by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
Prescriptive authority in Maryland.
Current CPR, DEA, and CDS certifications.
DATA 2000 Waiver (X-Waiver) for buprenorphine prescribing, or willingness to obtain.
Prior experience in a healthcare setting focused on mental health and substance use is a plus
Experience
Minimum of 2 years providing psychiatric services as a nurse practitioner (outpatient, PHP, IOP, or inpatient).
Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Familiarity with ASAM criteria and evidence-based practices in addiction treatment.
Experience prescribing and monitoring Medication-Assisted Treatment is strongly preferred.
Skills/Competencies

Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Skilled in crisis intervention, withdrawal management, and safety planning.

Work Environment
Outpatient, PHP, and IOP settings within a behavioral health and substance use treatment program.
Frequent collaboration with medical, clinical, and administrative staff.
Requires flexibility in scheduling to meet client and program needs.
