Roles & Responsibilities Perform and assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including PCI and structural heart interventions Provide pre-procedural and post-procedural care for Cath/EP patients with attention to safety and recovery Monitor procedural sedation and manage airway and hemodynamics throughout cases Manage vascular access tasks including sheath removal, vascular closure systems, and topical hemostasis Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs and support intra-procedural monitoring (Swan-Ganz/Pulmonary Artery lines when required) Administer and monitor critical medications including vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, and reversal agents as directed Assist with complex device procedures such as TAVR, Impella insertion, watchman and pacemaker lead management Support central line insertion/management, blood product administration, and IV therapy with strict infection prevention practices Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow and ensure high-quality peri-procedural care Float to other UCSF facilities as needed while maintaining consistent standards of care

Qualifications Current California RN license required AHA BLS and ACLS required Minimum 5+ years experience in Cardiac Cath / Interventional Cardiology Hands-on experience with Structural Heart procedures and TAVR strongly preferred Previous travel assignment experience required (comfortable with contract/travel role) Ability to float to other UCSF facilities as required Facility guideline: COVID-19 vaccine and booster required unless medically or religiously exempt

Knowledge & Skills Cardiac Cath Lab procedures: diagnostic caths, left/right heart cath, PCI, rotablator Structural heart experience including TAVR and valvuloplasty Monitoring and administration of procedural sedation Vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) and topical hemostasis techniques Sheath removal and post-procedural vascular monitoring IV therapy, central line support, and blood product administration Familiarity with IABP, Impella, ventricular assist device support, and device extractions Infection prevention practices and appropriate use of isolation precautions/PPE Ability to obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG and respond to arrhythmias Comfort with emergency medications, vasopressors, and thrombolytic protocols
