Roles & Responsibilities Monitor and manage telemetry patients with skillful interpretation of dysrhythmias and prompt intervention Provide progressive care for cardiac patients in a stepdown/PCU setting, including cardiac observation and post-event management Perform IV therapy, peripheral line care, phlebotomy and IV starts with precision and patient comfort in mind Respond to rapid response and code team activations, collaborating across disciplines for timely care Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure clear communication and continuity Administer oxygen and non-invasive airway support when indicated, recognizing respiratory changes early Adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff Float between units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed while maintaining high standards of care

Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience (PCU/Telemetry experience preferred) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state requirements apply; compact license accepted where applicable) BLS and ACLS certifications required Demonstrated competency with IV starts, IV therapy and peripheral line management Experience working with EPIC charting system required Comfortable with dysrhythmia interpretation/management and participation on Rapid Response/Code teams Flu vaccine required per facility guideline (medical exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Nursing diploma holders with relevant experience also considered

Knowledge & Skills Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation Cardiac stepdown/PCU patient assessment and management IV therapy, phlebotomy and peripheral line care Use of EPIC for documentation and medication administration Rapid Response and code team workflows Oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management Infection control and isolation precautions/PPE best practices Collaborative interdisciplinary communication with pharmacy, respiratory, PT and other support services
