03/23/2026 Job Description: The Registered Nurse will provide specialized care for patients in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on a 12-hour night shift. The role involves managing patients with mixed acuity, including Intermediate Care as well as Tele and MedSurg patients. The RN will handle cardiac procedural recovery, including post cardiac catheterization, MI pharmacology, and titratable cardiac drips. Responsibilities: Manage patient assignments with a standard ratio of 1:4, adjusted based on acuity. Provide care for direct admits, ED admits, and post-cardiac procedure patients. Administer and interpret cardiac medications and infusions. Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage medical equipment. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including phlebotomy and respiratory therapy, for comprehensive patient care. Requirements: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license from the South Dakota Board of Nursing. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required. Minimum 1.5 years of general nursing experience and 1 year specific to PCU level care. Experience in cardiac procedural recovery and management of titratable cardiac drips. Proficiency in using Epic for patient charting. Ability to float to sister PCU, MS/Tele, or ICU units as needed, within scope of practice.
