RCCYC Parent & Volunteer Engagement Coordinator — Job Description Title: Parent & Volunteer Engagement Coordinator Department: RCCYC (ROCK Community Center for Youth & Children) Location: 5817 E. 32nd St., Indianapolis, IN 46218 Reports To: RCCYC Center Director FLSA: Exempt | Full-time Hours: 9-hour workday (8 hours onsite 1-hour lunch), Monday-Friday; evenings/weekends required for family events and volunteer activities Role Summary The Parent & Volunteer Engagement Coordinator is responsible for building and sustaining strong relationships with RCCYC’s two most important partners: parents/guardians and volunteers . This role leads RCCYC’s parent/guardian engagement efforts , ensuring families are welcomed, informed, and supported as active participants in their children’s growth. At the same time, the Coordinator recruits, trains, and coordinates volunteers from Eastern Star Church ministries, corporate partners, schools, and community organizations. By combining parent engagement and volunteer coordination, this role strengthens RCCYC’s culture of partnership and service , ensuring children and youth experience consistent, holistic support. Key Responsibilities Parent/Guardian Engagement Serve as the primary liaison to families , ensuring clear and consistent communication. Volunteer Recruitment & Management Recruit volunteers from church ministries, community partners, businesses, and schools. Conduct orientations and trainings, ensuring volunteers understand RCCYC’s mission, policies, and youth protection standards. Maintain accurate records of background checks, service hours, and training completions. Partnerships & Community Engagement Build strong connections with ESC ministries to encourage member involvement. Support the Center Director and leadership team in planning and hosting family and community events. Qualifications Required Associate’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, human resources, education, or related field; 2 years of experience in volunteer coordination, family engagement, or community outreach. Ability to build relationships with diverse families, church ministries, and community partners. Ability to work 100% onsite, 9 hours daily (8 hrs onsite 1 hr lunch) with flexibility for evenings/weekends. Preferred Experience in youth-serving organizations. Familiarity with volunteer management or CRM systems. Bilingual skills a plus. Mandated Reporter training. Collaboration - Works well with RCCYC staff, church ministries, and community partners. Youth Protection - Ensures all volunteers meet RCCYC safety and compliance standards. Physical/Work Conditions Active, youth-centered environment requiring mobility across program areas. Onsite role with evening/weekend flexibility for events and volunteer service. Growth in the number and diversity of volunteers engaged annually. Positive feedback from staff, families, and community partners.
