Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Technician to support our client’s medical facility-based

Job Details: We are seeking a skilled

Specimen Technician

to perform specimen receiving, processing, and handling in a laboratory setting. Responsibilities include accessioning, labeling, centrifugation, aliquoting, and ensuring specimens are processed accurately and in compliance with laboratory protocols. This role emphasizes precise data entry, specimen integrity, and adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The position is critical to maintain efficient laboratory workflows, turnaround times, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Additionally, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations are integral to this position.

Job Responsibilities: Perform general specimen processing support functions including

A-station, presort, centrifugation, aliquoting, imaging, and microfilming . Ensure

accurate data entry

with a productivity standard of

6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour . Handle, process, and transport specimens within the laboratory in accordance with established procedures. Pickup and deliver processed specimens to designated laboratory areas. Learn and correctly identify

specimen types and test requirements

based on client orders. Comply with

changing test ordering and regulatory requirements . Maintain accuracy, confidence, and timeliness in all assigned tasks. Work effectively in a

biohazard environment , following all safety and compliance policies. Keep work areas

clean, organized, and compliant

with departmental standards. Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and supervisors while demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to daily operational changes.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED REQUIRED.

Work Experience: Previous laboratory or specimen processing experience preferred Medical background or familiarity with medical terminology preferred Previous hospital laboratory or production environment experience is a plus
