Special Procedure Technologist (Hiring Immediately)

Find your calling at Mercy! Under the direct supervision of the Special Procedures supervisor, performs Interventional Radiology and special procedures examinations requiring knowledge and special skills in the operation of a variety of specialized radiographic equipment, radiation safety devices and procedural equipment. Education:

Graduate of approved school of Radiologic Technology.

License(s):

State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice. If practicing in Arkansas, a Radiologic Technologist License is required.

Certification(s): ARRT registry. A RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) may be accepted in lieu of an ARRT if deemed appropriate by facility leadership. BLS

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

Two to three years' experience in Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath Lab.

Certification(s): ACLS Certified. One of the ARRT Advanced Vascular Interventional Registries. NIH Stroke Scale Certification.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities Knowledge: Understanding of neurovascular, peripheral vascular, and interventional procedures. Knowledge of anatomical positioning and physiology to demonstrate appropriate structures. Familiarity with special procedures imaging equipment and radiation safety practices. Awareness of department standards and protocols for operating imaging networks. Skills: Ability to position and immobilize patients. Skill in operating imaging equipment to produce optimal quality examinations. Competence in coordinating patient throughput and care flow. Proficiency in reviewing examination orders for accuracy and completeness. Skill in preparing exam rooms and assembling imaging records for interpretation.
