Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Act as a member of an integrative team to provide occupational therapy services for each child and/or their family, by designing and implementing a comprehensive treatment plan to help meet their treatment goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assess family and child's treatment needs utilizing formal and informal/functional assessments.
Meeting with clients every week or as identified by client, family, and/or team.
Provides occupational therapy to individuals, groups, and/or families at a frequency consistent with the treatment plan.
Acts as an advocate for the family providing psychoeducation and collaboration.
Quickly and effectively responds to crisis.
Documents clinical activities and case progress in a timely, thorough, and clearly written manner.
Effectively presents cases in court, staff, and other meetings as necessary.
Effectively communicates clinical and other information about the family to team members, purchasers, and consultants.
Completes initial assessment, initial treatment plan, ongoing treatment plans, and discharge summaries promptly that clearly describe the course of treatment.
Maintains knowledge of community resources and can access them when necessary.
Willingness to travel and some evening hours required.
Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education/Training:ย Current Occupational Therapy License through Wisconsin DSPS; Certification by NBCOT (required for licensure).
Skills: Demonstrable knowledge of normal and pathological child and adolescent development behavior.
Demonstrable knowledge of OT evidence-based and current best practice. A proven ability to work with children and adolescents and their families.
A demonstrable ability to guide and direct the treatment efforts of a multidisciplinary team toward a common treatment goal.
Ability to manage a flexible schedule. Willingness to travel and some evening hours required.
