Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry position in Vermont requiring a VT or compact RN license, night shifts, and recent charge nurse experience. Responsibilities Work in a Med Surg/Telemetry unit within a hospital setting Night shifts with 12-hour shifts scheduled Every other weekend and holiday coverage required as needed Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:4 to 1:5 Average daily census of 22 patients Must float to Acute Rehab, Med Surg, or any unit within RN's scope of practice Cerner EMR is used; prior experience is preferred Candidates must have their own vehicle due to lack of public transportation in the community Coordination of total nursing care, participation in patient and family teaching, and leadership alongside ancillary staff are key responsibilities May be asked to work as a backup charge nurse as needed No block scheduling will be considered for this assignment Requested time off must be included at the time of application; no more than 5 days of RTO accepted Three unexcused call-offs may result in contract termination Orientation consists of an 8-hour non-billable session Candidates must provide a permanent address and required documentation for consideration Requirements Active VT or compact RN license required Current certifications in BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required Minimum of 2 years recent Med Surg and Rehab experience required Previous charge RN experience required Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Must be willing to float within RN's scope of practice Skills checklists for Med Surg and Supervisory roles current within 1 year required for consideration Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not eligible Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-668192.
