This contract position involves providing exceptional care to patients in both the Emergency Room and Medical-Surgical units at a small, community-focused facility. Experience in an ER environment is preferred, but applicants with solid nursing backgrounds and a passion for rural healthcare will find this role rewarding.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage patient care in an 8-bed unit (3 ER beds, 5 Medical-Surgical beds) with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 3:1.
Perform triage, physical assessments, administer medications, and assist with wound care, splints, and casting.
Handle IV skills, chest tube setups, and midnight ER registration using Meditech EMR.
Collaborate with CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, and other staff to ensure smooth department operations.
Utilize medical equipment such as Baxter Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing systems, and Spacelabs monitors.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years experience; ER background preferred, especially in a critical access or rural setting.
Licenses/Certifications:
BLS and ACLS required; CPI/MOAB, TNCC, NRP, and PALS preferred.
Strong IV skills, ability to perform physical assessments, manage emergency situations, and use EMR systems confidently.
Ability to work both 12-hour day (0800-2000) and night (2000-0800) shifts, with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation.
Schedule:
12-hour shifts, day and night rotations available.
Weekend rotation every other week.
Holiday rotation every other holiday.
