A school-based Physical Therapist position is available for the 20252026 school year in New Windsor, New York. This part-time role offers a flexible schedule of two days per week, providing physical therapy services to school-aged students within an educational setting. Key Responsibilities: Deliver physical therapy interventions aligned with IEP goals and New York State Education Department (NYSED) guidelines. Assess and evaluate students physical abilities, developing individualized treatment plans to enhance mobility, strength, and independence. Collaborate effectively with teachers, school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, providing expert recommendations and professional insight. Maintain thorough and compliant documentation and progress reports according to district and DOE standards. Support the transfer of motor skills across various educational and social contexts to foster student success. Qualifications and Experience: Masters or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution. Current New York State Physical Therapy licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure. Prior experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy is highly preferred. Knowledge of CSE procedures and DOE requirements is an advantage. Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills. Location: New Windsor, NY (part-time, 2 days per week with scheduling flexibility).
