As the practice continues to expand, this firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with a strong background in commercial retail leasing and related real estate transactions. Experience with construction-related contracts—including construction agreements, build-out provisions, tenant-improvement obligations, and development-related documentation—is also essential.

Job Details
Core Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial retail leases, amendments, subleases, license agreements, and related transactional documents
Advise clients on lease strategy, operating issues, default scenarios, and risk allocation
Review and negotiate construction-related contracts, including work letters, construction agreements, development documents, and tenant-improvement provisions
Work with clients, brokers, architects, contractors, and consultants to support lease execution and project completion
Conduct legal due diligence related to retail sites, development projects, and property operations
Assist with broader real estate transactional matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and portfolio management
Maintain high responsiveness to client needs while managing multiple transactions simultaneously
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing in Georgia Or Maryland
5+ years of experience in commercial real estate, with a strong emphasis on retail leasing (other experience levels may be considered)
Demonstrated experience negotiating retail leases for landlords and/or tenants
Required: Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, build-out documentation, and development-related agreements
Excellent drafting, issue-spotting, and communication skills
Ability to provide clear, business-centric guidance to clients
Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing a significant transaction volume
A collaborative mindset and strong client-service orientation
Able to come into the office 5 days a week
