Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated
Nurse Practitioner
to support our Flint and Warren hospital location in providing patient care second to none! Duties include hospital rounding, recording patients' medical histories, performing physical exams, administering diagnostic tests, and creating patient care plans. You will also be a first assist in the operating room for neurosurgical and orthopedic surgeries. This position does involve some call and weekend duties.

Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:
Interview and examine patients to determine a diagnosis
Performing first assist duties in an operating room
Providing pre- and post op care to surgical patients
Hospital rounding on surgical patients and surgical consults
Performing physical exams and patient observations
Consulting with healthcare professionals and families
Order tests to ascertain the nature and extent of illnesses and injuries
Administering and analyzing diagnostic tests
Monitoring and operating medical equipment
Diagnosing health issues
Recording patients' medical histories and symptoms
Maintain patient records and provide documentation for insurance companies
Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones
Detecting changes in patients' health and modifying treatment plans, as needed
Training patients and their families to manage and prevent illness and injury
Nurse Practitioner Requirements:
Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
Master's degree from an accredited nursing program
Previous experience within the field or a related work environment is preferred
RN licensure in the state where employed or a compact party state and board-certified by either ANCC or AANP
APN authorization in the state where employed to practice in family health by the Board of Nurse Examiners
Prescriptive authorization
Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment is required to perform your work
Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology
A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of disease prevention
Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment while maintaining positive energy
Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement
Able to work compassionately with patients and coworkers to exhibit patient care second to none
Demonstrates enthusiasm and drive
