Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in school-based services, located in Providence, RI. This position involves providing support to a special needs caseload within a single school setting for an 8-week term starting ASAP through mid-June. The role is designed to cover maternity leave and manage increased caseload demands.
Key responsibilities include delivering direct speech-language therapy to K-5 students with moderate to severe disabilities, conducting speech and language evaluations, and collaborating in the development and updating of Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. The caseload consists of approximately 50 students, with support from two additional full-time SLPs on staff. This role involves active participation in IEP meetings and close collaboration with special education teams and families to ensure comprehensive care and progress monitoring.
Preferred qualifications and skills:
Certification in Speech-Language Pathology with CCC credential
Experience providing services in school-based or special education settings
Ability to conduct thorough assessments and write detailed IEP goals
Comfort working with high-need populations and diverse learning challenges
Strong collaboration and communication skills to engage effectively with educators, students, and families
Work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM to 1:15 PM. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive environment alongside experienced professionals.
