Travel Registered Nurse – CVICU Facility: Sinai Hospital of Baltimore Location: 2401 W Belvedere Ave, Baltimore, MD 21215 Start Date: 03/16/2026 Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: Days 3x12-Hour (07:00 – 19:30) Schedule: 36 Hours/Week, Every Other Weekend Charting System: Cerner (Preferred) Float Required: Yes – All areas including ED; ratios dependent upon unit needs Call Requirement: None specified Note: Must have 2 years staff CVICU experience and be able to take fresh open heart/cardiac surgery patients. Mixed ICU with CVICU focus. Position Overview: Registered Nurse will provide high-acuity care in a Mixed ICU environment with primary focus on CVICU patients, including immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients. Nurse must be competent in advanced hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac device management, and care of fresh open heart patients directly from the OR. Job duties: • Provide direct care to immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and TAVR • Manage fresh open heart patients directly from the OR with continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring • Interpret dysrhythmias and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips per protocol • Manage advanced cardiac devices including IABP, Impella, ECMO, LVAD/RVAD, and epicardial pacing wires • Perform and monitor invasive hemodynamic monitoring including arterial lines, CVP, PA/Swan-Ganz catheters, and FloTrac/Vigileo • Administer blood products, IV sedation, paralytics, and emergency medications as indicated • Provide ventilator management, suctioning, ABG interpretation, and respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC • Manage CRRT/CVVHD and patients with multisystem organ dysfunction • Assist with chest tube management, sheath removal, and procedural sedation monitoring • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, patient-centered critical care Requirements: Licensure: Valid Maryland RN License or Compact RN License (Required at time of submission) Experience: Minimum 2–3 years total RN experience Minimum 2 years staff CVICU experience Must be able to take fresh cardiac surgery patients Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS CALS Unit Details: Unit: 1000-7300 4 South – CVICU (Mixed ICU with CVICU focus) Patient Ratios: Based on acuity and unit needs Patient Population: Adult critical care patients; post cardiac surgery; overflow ICU patients Patient Diagnoses: CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, cardiogenic shock, heart failure, multisystem organ dysfunction
