Job Description
LHH is partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization to identify a Production Engineer to join their site Engineering Team. This role is responsible for supporting daily production operations, driving process optimization, and leading capital and maintenance initiatives within assigned production areas. The anticipated salary for this role is between $95,000-$120,000 a year.
Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day production engineering support by troubleshooting process issues and improving product quality and throughput
Partner closely with operators and maintenance teams to meet daily production targets
Represent Manufacturing on capital projects, ensuring alignment with operational requirements
Lead turnaround and maintenance coordination activities for assigned areas, including lockout/tagout preparation, work order review, and collaboration with maintenance leadership
Ensure processes comply with safety regulations, GMP standards, and environmental requirements
Analyze production data to identify trends, measure performance, and drive data-based process improvements
Deliver process and equipment training to production personnel as needed
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation following project completion
Evaluate and implement innovative technologies and process improvements to enhance efficiency and capability
Support plant safety initiatives by providing technical expertise during process design or redesign
Partner with Operations and Quality to resolve production and quality-related challenges
Act as process owner for assigned production areas, leading continuous improvement initiatives
Manage change processes for temporary operations or permanent process improvements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required
3–5 years of production or manufacturing engineering experience preferred
Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on production support required
Experience in GMP and/or HACCP-regulated environments
Knowledge of manufacturing safety and environmental standards
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
Experience with DeltaV and/or OSI PI systems preferred
Knowledge of GMP and PSM environments
Experience with distillation columns preferred
Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing experience a plus
SAP experience preferred
