Network Engineer (F5 Focused)

Work Model & Location Contract Phase:

100% Remote Conversion to Full‑Time:

Role Overview

Seeking a

Network Engineer

to join the enterprise infrastructure team. This role is a

backfill for BAU (Business As Usual) network operations , as an engineer is being dedicated full‑time to a large, multi‑year strategic initiative spanning the next

five years . The ideal candidate is a

Level 3 Network Engineer

with deep enterprise experience supporting

Cisco and Arista environments , and

strong hands‑on expertise with F5 BIG‑IP

platforms. This role is

heavily F5‑focused , with approximately

80% of time spent supporting F5

and

20% supporting core network BAU activities

across WAN, LAN, and data center environments.

Key Responsibilities Serve as a

Level 3 escalation engineer

for enterprise network infrastructure Design, implement, and support

Layer 2 and Layer 3

network solutions in large‑scale enterprise environments Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot

Cisco (IOS/NX‑OS)

and

Arista (EOS)

routing and switching platforms, including:

BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN Spanning Tree, MLAG, port‑channeling QoS, ACLs

Own and support the

F5 BIG‑IP environment , including:

LTM (Local Traffic Manager) GTM/DNS (preferred) ASM (preferred) Virtual servers, pools, iRules, SSL offload, and traffic management

Support and troubleshoot

MPLS, WAN, LAN, VPN, and Wi‑Fi

environments Monitor network performance and availability; perform

root‑cause analysis

for incidents and outages Implement and maintain

network security best practices , including segmentation, firewall policies, and access control Participate in on‑call rotations and provide after‑hours support for critical incidents Collaborate with

security, systems, cloud, and application teams

to support ongoing business needs Maintain accurate

network documentation , diagrams, and configuration standards Contribute to

automation and scripting initiatives

(Python, Ansible, or similar) to improve operational efficiency Required Qualifications 7+ years

of experience building and supporting

enterprise‑scale network environments Strong hands‑on experience with

Cisco and Arista

routing and switching platforms Proven experience with

BGP, OSPF , and large

L2/L3

switching environments Extensive hands‑on experience supporting

F5 BIG‑IP

in production enterprise environments Demonstrated troubleshooting experience across

MPLS, WAN, LAN, and wireless

networks Strong understanding of

TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs , and network security fundamentals Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, Splunk, etc.) Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast‑paced, enterprise environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Experience with

QoS, VPN, GRE, IPsec Exposure to

Juniper

networking platforms Experience with

SAN/NAS

storage environments Familiarity with

VMware

and Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange) Experience with

network automation or infrastructure‑as‑code Experience Level

This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
