Paralegal
to join our
Chicago
office.
The Litigation Paralegal will be supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills, and brings a proactive approach to case management, discovery, and trial preparation. In addition, this candidate will be working under the supervision of our Litigation Partners and/or Associates, position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Assembling, filing and serving summons, complaints, answering discovery documents and other pleadings.
Assembly and service of deposition notices and subpoenas.
Drafting standard notices of motions and stipulations.
Assembling and organizing deposition exhibits and summarizing deposition transcripts.
Attending and monitoring document productions.
Preparing privilege logs.
Reviewing responses to interrogatories, requests for production of documents and requests for admission.
Performing non-legal research and cite checking (including auto cite).
Conducting factual investigation regarding products, companies, or individuals from various governmental agencies, resource facilities, etc. and verifying information.
Working with outside vendors, investigators, consultants, etc. including court reporters and/or videotape technicians.
Assisting in preparing pretrial statements, settlement conference memoranda, and trial subpoenas.
Organizing and preparing trial exhibits including demonstrative exhibits; and
Coordinating equipment and supply requirements needed at trial.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least Three years of experience.
Four-year college degree or paralegal certificate with litigation experience.
Experience with U.S. District Court Northern District of Illinois and Illinois state court practices and procedures, including filing procedures.
Experience with FINRA and SEC proceedings helpful but not required.
Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The starting salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000.
