Job Description:
This position requires a Registered Nurse to provide care for adult patients in the Progressive Care Unit with a variety of diagnoses. Nurses will perform duties including cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, blood product administration, CIWA, drain and tube management, catheter insertion and management, insulin drips, and chest tube maintenance. Effective communication, clinical judgment, and adaptability are essential.
Responsibilities:
Provide care for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, syncope, chest pain, pulmonary emboli, respiratory failure, COPD, arrhythmias, seizure disorders, overdose, and delirium tremors.
Drip titration for medications including Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Levophed, and Betablockers or other antihypertensives.
Collaborate effectively within a team nursing model, working alongside LPNs.
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a PCU RN, Tele RN, or LPN with relevant qualifications.
Registered Nurse licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
BLS and ACLS certifications are required for RN positions.
Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip titration is preferred.
