Electric Motor Design Engineer (Shawnee)

We are seeking an experienced engineer to design, analyze, and launch high-performance AC and DC motor systems. This role combines electromagnetic design, reverse engineering, testing, and manufacturing collaboration to deliver efficient, production-ready motor solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and develop AC/DC motors (induction, PM, BLDC, synchronous) Perform electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical analysis (FEA/CFD) Lead reverse engineering: teardown, winding analysis, materials, and magnetic circuits Create CAD models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation Develop specifications, validation plans, and performance testing (efficiency, torque, thermal, vibration, noise) Optimize efficiency and overall performance Partner with manufacturing to ensure design for manufacturability Support prototyping, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis Benchmark competitor products and recommend improvements Ensure compliance with industry standards and support production launch Required Qualifications BS/MS in Electrical, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field 7+ years of electric motor design & development experience Proven success launching or redesigning a motor platform into production Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory and motor design principles Experience with motor simulation tools and CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor) Hands-on teardown/reverse engineering experience Understanding of windings, laminations, magnets, insulation systems, and manufacturing processes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
