About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Thrive Staffing to find a qualified PCU RN in Yakima, Washington, 98902!Job TitleRegistered Nurse - PCU12H DaysCity/State: Yakima, WashingtonShift: 12H Days, Days, 07:00:00-19:00:00Contract Length: 12 weeksStart Date: 04/06/2026Job Description:The Registered Nurse in the PCU is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with various medical, cardiac, and occasional oncology conditions. The role involves working in a community hospital environment with a diverse patient population, including a significant number of Spanish speakers and underserved individuals.Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive care to patients with conditions such as DMII, GI, GU, COVID, PNA, AMS, TIA, AKI, dehydration, ETOH, syncope, CKD, sepsis, stroke, dialysis, pulmonary edema, anemia, shock, and hypoxia. Handle cardiac cases including PCI pre/post-care, CHF, MI, afib with RVR, NSTEMI, chest pain, and manage post-cath lab procedures. Perform trach care, chest tube management, and ensure proper TR band, central line maintenance, and titration of drips such as diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix. Ensure accurate reading, interpreting, and measuring of cardiac rhythm and provide care for patients on bipap and high-flow O2. Participate in weekend shifts as needed, with floating to other departments within the hospital as required.Requirements: Minimum of 1-year experience in a Progressive Care Unit; open to first-time travelers with at least 2 years of total experience, including 1 year in PCU. Must hold ACLS and BLS certifications. Proficient in handling general nursing duties along with specific skills such as trach care, chest tube handling, and titration of specific medication drips.
