Crisis Services Hotline Remote Pay: $21/hr. Temporary position with potential for permanent hire • This role is temporary/contract, with eligibility for permanent consideration after 120 days. Conversion to a permanent role is dependent on performance and organizational needs and is NOT guaranteed. Hours: Full Time, 40 Hours Per Week • 8-hour shifts • The crisis line operates 24/7 • Shift times will remain the same but will rotate each week and can include Saturdays and Sundays. We will aim to schedule two days off in a row each week.

Equipment Requirement: This role requires candidates to have own equipment (laptop OR desktop computer, mouse, camera and microphone) and dedicated quiet workspace. • A Tablet or iPad will NOT work for this role as they lack the necessary operating systems, security permissions, and multitasking capabilities required for the job.

ORIENTATION DETAILS Start Date: Orientation Begins 3/18 Time: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM EST - Monday through Friday for the first four (4) weeks Location: Remote

*IMPORTANT TO NOTE* - Training is mandatory, and you are required to be online for its entirety with your camera on. -We do not allow absence whether it is full or half day during the 120-hour training period. This includes time off for doctor’s appointments, meetings, etc.

SUMMARY STATEMENT OF POSITION: Crisis Worker's provide emotional support to persons and families who are in crisis via the telephone, text message or online chat. The Full-Time Crisis Worker will be scheduled 40 hours per week.

PRIMARY DUTIES: • Respond to crisis contacts (phone, text, or chat): greeting clients, using active listening, and establishing rapport by being accepting, empathetic, objective, non-judgmental, non-directive, and responsive to the feelings of the callers or texter. • Explore the person in crisis experiences and feelings using feeling oriented, responsive language; following established protocols; identifying warning signs; and assessing the degree of safety and risk. • Provide confidential contacts and ensure that any information shared by the person in crisis is kept confidential. • Provide referrals to appropriate resources; engage 9-1-1 for emergency medical treatment and/or police intervention, using required assessments and policy guidance. • Accurately document crisis contact interactions in correct contact reports. • Complete administrative tasks as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
