An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Med Surg experience to support post-surgical, observation, and overflow units. This contract position focuses on night shifts in a healthcare setting transitioning toward team nursing, incorporating Licensed Practical Nurses to assist with patient care. Qualifications & Desired Experience: Current RN license with compliance to Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines Minimum of 2 years recent Med Surg nursing experience At least 1 year of travel nursing experience preferred Ability to manage patient ratios of approximately 1:6 or 1:7 Experience in post-surgical and observation care settings Strong skills in patient assessment and clinical interventions Willingness to work night shift hours (7 PM 7 AM) Must be available for on-call and weekend shifts as needed Commitment to a 3x12-hour night shift schedule Location:This role is based in the Cordova area of Tennessee, a community known for its welcoming atmosphere, convenient access to urban amenities, and proximity to natural parks and recreational activities. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical, observation, and overflow unit patients Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team during a transition to team nursing models Support Licensed Practical Nurses and assist in workload management Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and document care thoroughly Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies during night shifts Details: Contract role with start dates available for February 9 and February 23 Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week (19:0007:00) Weekend and on-call availability required Travel nurses only; local candidates within a 100-mile radius are not eligible This contract nursing position provides the chance to further your career in a dynamic Med Surg environment, contributing to patient recovery and high standards of care.
