This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse position in an Emergency Room setting, located in Vestal, NY. This role emphasizes delivering patient-centered care with a focus on protecting, promoting, and optimizing health while preventing illness and injury. The nurse will be accountable for adhering to all standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with state regulations and established organizational policies. Responsibilities: Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients, serving as a primary or accountable nurse as designated. Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management utilizing available resources. Administer medications safely with a working knowledge of pharmacology following organizational policies. Manage productivity and utilize resources effectively, including staffing, time, and supplies. Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Participate actively in nursing shared governance, unit councils, quality improvement initiatives, and peer review. Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education and training. Integrate current nursing research and evidence-based practice. Support learning environments for new staff and students. Take on Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned. Perform additional responsibilities as required. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current and valid RN license. Experience in emergency nursing preferred. Proficient knowledge of nursing standards and evidence-based practices. Effective communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
