This position serves as a hands-on Cloud Architect responsible for designing, building, and leading the implementation of secure, scalable cloud solutions within AWS and GovCloud environments. The role drives cloud architecture strategy while actively contributing to solution design, technical decision-making, infrastructure implementation, and engineering execution for SaaS platforms supporting DoD and commercial programs. This leader works directly within the technical stack guiding architecture, reviewing code and infrastructure, shaping CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring cloud services are resilient, compliant, and aligned with expertise standards. In addition to architectural leadership, the role coordinates DoD and commercial contract activities in a fast-paced, highly technical environment. It leads SaaS and cloud-based technical programs, manages day-to-day engineering priorities, and collaborates closely with customers, internal leadership, vendors, and suppliers to align execution with strategic product vision.

Responsibilities will include:

* Architect lean on GovCloud and client solution architectures. * Coordinates efforts of a diverse set of engineers on programs with solutions employing cloud services and client applications. * Orchestrates activities to architect new systems to provide IoT device operational data, health, status, and faults to Satellite Operations team to enable response and remediation and support customer needs. * Leads migration of legacy systems to modern SaaS and cloud-native architectures. * Leads interaction and negotiation with existing and potential new customers, engineering and business development team members, new and prospective vendors and suppliers in order to successfully win and deliver programs. * Oversees the system development lifecycle including requirements definition, design, implementation, integration and testing, both in our facilities as well as in the field, locally and at customer operational testing sites. * Define and maintain software architecture standards across products and internal systems. * Prepares customer briefings, activity and status reports as required for assigned projects. * Contributes to proposal development and costing. * Contributes to project plans and projections for deliverables, schedules and costs. * Leads and participates in process improvement initiatives. * Recruits engineering team to support product development.

Job Requirements

* U.S. citizenship requires and an active secret clearance is a plus. At a minimum, must be security clearance eligible. * BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or ten years relevant technical experience. * Four+ years' experience working with AWS and GovCloud solutions. * Experience with migration software applications using SaaS. * Experience with developing secure architect. * Lifecycle experience with engineering projects integrating systems, software, and hardware; including system specifications, software requirements, architectural design, development, and test plan development, integration, testing, and production rollout. * Experience building distributed systems and event driven architecture (EDA). Docker, Kubernetes, ECR and ECS are a plus. * Experience developing client applications using IoT protocols such as DDS. * Experience supervising technical/engineering teams. xhqgsiq

Salary will be based on experience, skill level, and extent to which the candidate meets desired requirements.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
