Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule 3x12.0 Rotating Schedule, including Days, Evenings, Nights, Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge per Unit as needed.

Job Description The Level 1 RN for the Psych ER is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing psychiatric emergencies. This role involves conducting intake assessments, planning and delivering nursing care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create effective treatment plans.

Responsibilities

Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.

Plan and provide nursing care for patients while making nursing diagnoses of their medical and emotional status.

Consult with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design treatment plans.

Administer psychotropic drugs and document reactions appropriately.

Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and the need for treatment.

Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.

Document all patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality.

Perform administrative tasks as necessary, such as filing and completing progress notes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Valid NY RN License.

BLS Certification (American Heart Association).

A minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing.
