Registered Respiratory Therapist

We at HirePower are looking for a Respiratory Therapist to join our client’s team who has the vision of making a fully integrated health system for all New Yorkers. You will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in high-acuity units, including the Neonatal ICU (NICU), Pediatric ICU (PICU), Medical ICU (MICU), and Emergency Room (ER). The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking, technical expertise, and a compassionate approach in managing patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

Responsibilities Administer a wide range of respiratory therapy treatments and interventions in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols. Provide ventilator management and airway care, including suctioning, intubation assistance, and extubating. Respond to emergency situations, including code blue, code pink, and rapid response calls. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, bronchodilator therapy, and pulmonary function testing. Document all care accurately and promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and home care techniques as needed. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications Required: Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NBRC certification New York State license (NYSED) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Minimum of 2 years of experience in NICU, PICU, MICU, and Emergency Room (ER) settings.
