Position Overview
A well‑established law firm in the South Bay of Los Angeles is seeking a Litigation Assistant with experience supporting Medical Malpractice attorneys. This is a full‑time, in‑office role providing essential administrative and litigation support in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines while working closely with attorneys through all phases of litigation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day‑to‑day litigation support to Medical Malpractice attorneys
Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
File documents (state and federal), including e‑filing and service of process
Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, and trial dates
Coordinate depositions, mediations, and hearings
Assist with discovery preparation, including subpoenas and medical record organization
Maintain and organize case files (physical and electronic)
Interface professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors
Assist with trial preparation as needed
Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a Litigation Assistant or Legal Secretary (Medical Malpractice or Personal Injury preferred)
Working knowledge of California civil litigation procedures and deadlines
Experience with e‑filing in California state and federal courts
Strong document formatting and proofreading skills
Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Reliable, professional, and able to work onsite full time
